Ballet with Justin Leaf
Justin’s ballet classes offer an opportunity to practice classical ballet technique with an emphasis on musicality, coordination, phrasing, placement, and line. The classes draw from Justin’s most intensive experiences as a dancer, with formative training that included the Vaganova Method at The Kirov Academy, Balanchine technique at Pacific Northwest Ballet School and the School of American Ballet, and the Corvino approach with mentors Andra and Ernesta Corvino. He also draws from his comprehensive training at The Juilliard School (BFA 2001) and professional experience as a company member of James Sewell Ballet (2002-2008) and Minnesota Dance Theatre (2008-2014).
With more than twenty years of teaching experience, Justin nurtures each student to achieve their potential through focused study of the classical principles along with the sheer joy of movement. Classes are tailored to the goals of the students, ranging from recreational to professional.
